Yuasa Battery Sales Ups its Investment in Honda Racing

Yuasa Battery Sales is the United Kingdom's top supplier for car, motorcycle, and industrial batteries, and they've supported the Honda Racing team for the last three years. Now, however, it seems as though the company wants in on a bit more of the action, as Honda and Yuasa Battery Sales have recently signed a three-year, exclusive deal that will change the Honda Racing team at its core.
Change how, exactly? Nothing too dramatic, actually. Now, instead of being known as Honda Racing, the team will be known as Honda Yuasa Racing. It goes without saying that the addition of the Yuasa brand name to the team signifies a rather large investment from the U.K.-based battery manufacturer. And of course, that's something that's just crying for details.
Unfortunately, however, we don't have them. Both companies have kept the financial aspect of this deal under tight wraps. What we do know, however, is that their investment was large enough that the two unveiled a new racer built on the Honda Civic platform and built in the company's iconic Swindon plant in the U.K. Featuring a white paintjob with red Tuasa decals, the Civic racer was unveiled with the help of veteran drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal.
As for what we can expect from the stylish new racer? We'll simply have to wait and see. And you can bet that Stephens Honda - 1441 S. Liberty - will be keeping a very close eye on all of the action. So make sure to stay tuned. We are, after all, dedicated to keeping you informed.
