Honda Earns Highest Score in CO2 Disclosure Project 2011- Global 500 Report

One of the prime reasons Stephens Honda is so proud to sell new Honda vehicles to drivers in the Bloomington area is for the lineup's super-low carbon emissions. The Japanese automaker's commitment to preserving the environment is shown on the Carbon Disclosure Project's 2011 Global 500 Report.

Released for the 9th consecutive year, the detailed report provides data and expert analysis on different companies' methods and internal governance aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions which ultimately should slow down climate change. Honda was one of just 52 organizations the Carbon Disclosure Project has featured on their Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index in 2011.

The Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index highlights organizations that have showed superior professionalism in their corporate governance regarding the disclosure of climate change information. What is more impressive than being featured on the list? Honda received the #1 highest score of all Japanese companies which were featured. They were also one of only 29 companies to appear in the Carbon Disclosure Project's Carbon Performance Leadership Index!

Following the unveiling of the study, Honda humbly explained how the company still has a long way to go to achieve their environmental goals."Honda realizes that its proactive efforts in addressing climate change issues resulted in this recognition by CDP simultaneously in CDLI [Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index] and CPLI [Carbon Performance Leadership Index]. Honda will further enhance its environmental activities globally and locally in each region while at the same time taking a proactive approach to further advance its information disclosure practices."1
